'Early Plans' for Development of Heidelberg Site Revealed
Blocks up to ten storeys high containing around 350 flats to be built

Design proposals for the development of the Heidelberg site in Brentford Dock have been published by the developer.
Fairview New Homes wants to build 350 flats in a waterside development that would contain blocks up to 10 stories high.
The developer looks set to revive the name of Montgomery’s Wharf, which the site was known as when it was a timber yard and saw mill, as well as a depot for hay and straw before being redeveloped as the Heidelberg printers in the 1980s.
The flats would be 42% one bedroom, 34% two bedroom, 22% three bedroom and 2% four bedroom with an unspecified proportion of them being available for shared ownership and rent.

Part of the space in the development will be non-residential which the developer says will be subject to discussion with Hounslow Council to determine what it will be used for.
The current occupant, Heidelberg, are relocating their headquarter in the near future after selling the site to Fairview earlier this year.

This is the first round of consultation on what the developer describes as ‘early plans’. A second round will be held around the new year with a view to submitting a planning application in the Spring and starting construction at the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023. If this schedule is achieved then the project would be finished by Summer 2026.

There is also a public exhibition of the plans at 4pm – 7pm on Tuesday 2 November at Brentford Free Church, Boston Manor Road, TW8 8DW. Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions.
