Hounslow Council is looking at amending Brentford Station CPZ in response to a petition from some residents of York Road requesting alteration of the existing CPZ times to counteract the increase in evening parking attributed to nearby residential developments and ‘Match Day’ parking during Brentford FC home fixtures.

As a result of this and other sporadic complaints, it has been agreed that a review of all roads within the Brentford Station CPZ area would be most appropriate as this would help determine whether there is wider support for changes to the existing CPZ.

Residents are asked to consider:

Has the CPZ improved the parking situation, removing all day parking and increasing parking provisions for residents and their visitors? Alternatively, have the parking controls had a negative impact on parking in your road?

The current operational times of the CPZ in the majority of roads are Monday-Friday, 9.30am-5.30pm. The CPZ was intended to remove all day, non-residential parking associated with local businesses and, primarily, commuters using Brentford train station.

The aforementioned petition, however, requests an increase in the times to Monday-Saturday, 9am-8pm as per the operating times in Brook Lane North (part) and Layton Road due to parking issues in the evenings, attributed to parking from non-Brentford Station CPZ residents, and weekends, attributed to supporters attending Brentford FC home games.

Do you think the current operational times are effective and, if not, what alternative times would you prefer?

Residents should be reminded that Brentford FC are due to relocate to their new stadium towards the latter part of 2019, therefore, the introduction of match day restrictions may not be considered a necessity in this instance.

If you are in the area of the CPA you should have received a letter with the survey. You can email comments to traffic@hounslow.gov.uk or fill in the survey online. The consultation closes on 5th October 2018.
