Slipper featuring Andrea Black are playing at George IV on 16th June from 8 o'clock. 185 Chiswick High Road, tel 020 8994 4624.

The tickets are priced at £8 on the door and £7 in advance. Disabled access. All the proceeds will go to the British Heart Foundation.

Three of the members of Slipper - Sam Dodson, Andrea Black and John Woodley - originally met in St Paul's Park, Brentford while their young children played on the swings. As they chatted, they soon discovered that each were keen musicians - Andrea a singer, John a theremin player and Sam a member of Loop Guru, a writer of music for Slipper and founder of the record label Elsewhen. Sam invited the two to his studio, and work began on the forthcoming album. As well as singing, Andrea wrote the lyrics, and John laid down some of his ethereal sounds.

The Tiki themed event will also be supported by the Loop Guru Exotic Sound System. There will be cocktails and food available. And Great raffle prizes to be won.

On the trail of the forgotten Tiki cult of the fifties, enjoy the atmosphere of The Tiki Bar. One of the most bizarre chapters of American pop culture awaits rediscovery.
