A further arrest has been made following the disappearance of Mohammed Shah Subhani from Hounslow.

The 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, kidnap and perverting the course of justice on Wednesday, 31 July – he remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh of the Specialist Crime Command leads the investigation and said:

“We continue to make progress in our investigation which seeks to establish what has happened to Mohammed Shah Subhani, known to his family as ‘Shah’. And this progress is demonstrated by another arrest which shows our commitment to providing Shah’s family with the answers they deserve.

“Shah’s family have been tormented by this ordeal, their pain is magnified by the cloak of silence that shrouds his disappearance. I know people have and will be talking about Shah’s disappearance - we need you to have the confidence to make that call to my incident room 020 8785 8099, or to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.

“I understand how difficult it might be to make that call on your loved one or friends. That is why we are offering a £20,000 serious crime reward for both for information leading to the whereabouts of Mohammed, and also information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of anyone connected with his disappearance.

“I would reiterate my appeal to anyone who has information that can assist us in establishing the facts around Shah’s disappearance to come forward and speak to us at the earliest opportunity.”

Three other arrests have been made as part of this investigation:

A 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice on 2 July has been released under investigation.

Two men – aged 22 and 25 – were arrested on Monday, 8 July on suspicion of murder, kidnap/abduction and perverting the course of justice. The first has been bailed to return to police on a date in early August. The second has been released under investigation.

Police were called on Tuesday, 7 May after 27-year-old Mohammed Shah Subhani failed to return to his home in Hounslow, west London.

His family reported him as missing shortly before midnight, having seen him last at 12:30hrs that same day. The search for Mohammed continues.

Mohammed’s white Audi Q3 was recovered in Camden on Wednesday, 19 June and forensic tests are ongoing.
