Shop owners in Hounslow and Brentford have the chance to bid for grants to give their stores a facelift.

Up to £160,000 is available to traders who want to spruce up their shop front, as part of the Mayor of London and council’s commitment to help regenerate Hounslow and Brentford.

The Mayor is investing £3 million in Hounslow and Brentford from his Outer London Fund, an initiative which is helping increase the vibrancy and growth of high streets across London.

Councillor Steve Curran, cabinet member for housing, planning and regeneration, said: “I would urge traders to make the most of this special offer and give their shop front a makeover.

“This is all part of our drive to make Hounslow a go-to destination for west London consumers.”

The scheme will focus on funding improvements to the exterior of shops and the council will consider other ideas for improvement.

It will also offer additional support to help businesses improve their merchandising, marketing, and financial skills.

Applicants have until 18 November to submit their proposals and the council will support applicants through the application process and during the entire design and implementation process.

More information on the scheme can be found at www.hounslow.gov.uk/shopfronts.
