War Memorial Is On The Move
Permission received at last
Planning has just been received for the transfer of St Lawrence's War Memorial to the Garden of Remembrance at Brentford Library. London Borough of Hounslow has given planning permission, and English Heritage and the Secretary of State have also given their approval.
Work on the St Lawrence's War Memorial can now commence. Firstly the stone will be removed from its existing location, probably the first week of July and taken to the stone mason's workshop where it will be completely restored.
The restored Memorial will then be relocated to its new position outside Brentford Library in plenty of time for Remembrance Sunday.
This project would not have succeeded without the support of Julia Quilliam to whom we give thanks.
