Brentford High Street Steering Group has been looking at improving and continuing to improve signposting in Brentford.

As part of this exercise Russell Grant, the chair of the Middlesex County Trust debated the issues before posing the question

Should visitors to Brentford be greeted by signs recognising "The historic county town of Middlesex"?

with the following response:

Yes: 91% 106 votes
No: 9% 10 votes
Not sure: 1% 1 vote

along with the very appropriate comment from Nilesh Shah "I have always known it to be the County Town of Middlesex and have been proud to mention it in any conversation with many of my customers when I used to have a minicab company."

The results of this poll will be passed on to the appropriate officials at Hounslow Council.
