The PCT is holding a special information session for people who are interested at the Thelma Golding Health Centre, 92 Bath Road, on Thursday 2 September (6-8pm).

A potential Non-Executive Director will need to demonstrate:

  • genuine interest in healthcare issues and a commitment to the needs of the local community
  • ability to contribute effectively at board level - to think strategically, understand complex issues and make decisions
  • good communication skills.

The Commission would particularly welcome applications from candidates with strong financial skills or experience at a senior level in a large private sector organisation.
Non-Executive Directors are paid £5,673 per annum and are expected to devote a minimum of two and a half days per month to their role.

PCT Chair Christine Hay said:

"A Non-Executive Director's role is to hold the executive to account and contribute to the development of health strategies that ensure high quality services to patients. They are expected to make sure that the interests of patients remain paramount. Anyone who meets the criteria and can devote the time is welcome to apply. "

Anyone wishing to apply should call the NHS Appointments Commission during office hours on 0870 240 3802, quoting reference number L4300, for an application pack.
