MP Joins Residents In Protest at Dangerous Sculpture

Ferry Quays statue 'hiding anti-social behaviour'

Local MP, Ann Keen met with constituents on Friday 18th June in their battle against a sculpture in the new Ferry Quays development in Brentford.

Residents of the new development had expressed opposition to the statue on artistic grounds. However they are now concerned that young people are using the statue as a meeting place.. Cigarette butts and empty bottles of alcoholic drinks have been found there.

"I am very concerned at the way in which the sculpture is being used as a shield by young people committing anti-social behaviour. There was no consultation with local residents when planning the piece of art and there are now very serious health and safety concerns.

"I offer my full support to the residents on this issue and will be meeting with the key groups involved to resolve the problem in the coming weeks. "
