July 20th: Kanae Furomoto (Piano)
Kanae Furomoto Kanae Furomoto studied at the Royal Academy of Music firstly with Professor Lois Phillips and later with Professor Hamish Milne. She was awarded several scholarships and prestigious prizes from inside and outside the college, which enabled her to continue her education to the postgraduate course there and also to gain the M.Mus from the University of London. She has also participated in various masterclasses given by George Sebock, Andrass Schiff, Tamas Vasary, Imogen Cooper, John Lill, Karl-Heinz Kammerling, and others. Her debut recital in Tokyo in 1995 was highly acclaimed and was followed by a broadcast on the radio NHK-FM. She was also chosen as a soloist for the PLG Young Artist Concert Series in 1999 to appear at the Purcell Room in London. Kanae has been actively performing since when she was a student. Her experiences as a soloist, as an ensemble player and as an accompanist extend from radio broadcasts to concert appearances at music festivals, spreading across variety of countries in Europe and South East Asia as well as within the U.K. and her native Japan. She has performed with eminent artists including cellists Maria Kriegel and Adalbert Skocic, soprano Charlotte de Rothschild, violinists Jin Matsuno and Narimichi Kawabata, flautist Harrie Starrevelt and many others. Lunchtime Concerts St.Paul's provides a platform for established local musicians, and a valuable opportunity for students to perform in front of a live audience. Lunchtime Concerts are arranged usually on the third Wednesday of the month, mainly for the benefit of members of the local community dining at the St.Paul's Open House Cafe, but everyone is welcome. The concerts start at 1.00 pm and generally run for 45 minutes. There is no fixed charge for admission but a donation of £3.00 is suggested. The Cafe opens every day from noon. Our lunches, prepared by an award-winning chef, are the best value for money you will find in Brentford. Tea is available after the concerts
