Fun day out for all the family

At Thornbury Park, London Road isleworth

On Saturday 9th September, noon - 6pm

Families can enjoy a day of fun and activities with Hounslow Council plus local emergency services at the Joint Services Open Day this Saturday, 9 September.

The event will be taking place at Thornbury Park from 12noon to 6pm and will feature a range of information stalls on Council services, along with sport taster sessions and live entertainment.

Emergency services will be represented by the Hounslow Police’s Crime Prevention and Community Safety teams and London Fire Brigade.

Also in attendance, will the Army and the Irish Guards.

Entertainment will include a performance from street dance group Aluminae, along with face painting, a food hall, a funfair and much more.

Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, who will open the event, said: “This is a great chance for residents of all ages to enjoy a really good community event, plus see behind the scenes with our emergency services and find out information on a variety of Council services.

“There will also be lots to do, some nice food and all we need to add, is hopefully some nice weather. I hope to see as many of our residents there on the day.”
The event has been organised by Hounslow’s Blue Light services, along with the Council and health and leisure partners.

Hounslow Police Borough Commander Raj Kohli said: “I am really looking forward to this long overdue community event.

“Sad recent incidents have drawn the emergency services ever more closely together and it is only right that the emergency services, alongside the key local partners (without whom we could not operate) are recognised in this fun and interesting way.

"Who knows – a future firefighter, police officer or Hounslow Council officer might turn up!”
