Sam Dodson is an artist and former musician in Loop Guru and the Transmitters. Sam Dodson to Hold Solo Exhibition on Johnsons Island

His art explores collage in varying forms with intervention and construction. Never happy to stand still he continues to develop and find new techniques.

Recently two of Sam’s works have been featured in Dada and Surrealism publications: Firstly, in the catalogue for “The day of the Dead” exhibition at the International Museum of Collage, New Mexico. Secondly, in “Maintenant 11" - the yearly New York publication celebrating Dada and surrealism.

He said, "My process varies from moment to moment. I'll do a series of works on one idea then I'll move on to the next concept. I like to use the studio as a laboratory, it's like alchemy. You name it everything is allowed. It's all an experiment - everything is permissible! I want to question everything with my art to try and fold reality, grasping at the intangible to create a new mythology.”

The exhibition takes place at The Brentford Gallery, Johnsons Island, Catherine Wheel Road, (Opposite The Brewery Tap) Brentford, TW8 8DB.

There is a private view on the evening of 23 June and then a general exhibition on 24-25 June from noon until 6pm.
