Events on the Market Place
French market and live music this Friday and Saturday
Following the success of the recent Italian Market Event in Brentford’s Market Square another exciting event is organised for Friday 9 and Saturday 10 December.
The French Market will begin with a wide variety of stalls stretching from the Market Square and along the High Street to Goddard’s Corner. Our French friends will be selling specialities from bread and patisserie, cheese and sausages to Provencal soaps, music, jewellery and handbags.
There will also be some of our local traders selling Christmas items including mulled wine, decorations, floristry, gifts, painted furniture and lots more.
Father Christmas and his elves will be in the Grotto and open for visitors from 4pm to 5pm on both days.
Students from the London College of Music are presenting a programme of music on Friday starting around 5pm, followed by a firework display at 6pm. Afterwards music will continue until 10pm.
On Saturday some of local bands and choirs including the gorgeous Brentford Belles and Kate de Freitas will be performing throughout the afternoon and evening starting at 5pm.
Everyone is welcome to come down and take part in the festivities, enjoy some food whilst listening to some great music and have the chance to start off your Christmas shopping.
The Brentford High Street Steering Group have organised this event with the kind support of the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund initiative aiming to strengthen the vibrancy and growth of the High Street.
