Drive-in cinema is set to come to Brentford this summer with Tom Kerridge planning a major event in Syon Park.

Tickets are already on sale for a new Drive & Dine Theatre experience in which you will be able to watch film from your car while eating from a menu designed by the celebrity chef. The event will be coming to this area between 28 July and 2 August.

He had originally planned another round of Pub in the Park events including one in Chiswick House Gardens but these have been called into question following the Covid-19 outbreak.

A drive-in format is thought to offer easier social distancing although the staging of the event remains conditional on it satisfying whatever government guidelines apply at the time.

Tom Kerridge said, ‘I am so excited to announce a great new event created to have a load of fun in a way that is safely suited to current times.

‘Come and eat some good grub, catch some quality movies, and make some new memories with your loved ones. It’s the perfect trip out of the house!’

The event, which is heading out on a national tour from 7 July to 2 August, will be wheeling out the world’s largest mobile HD LED screen. As well as watching films there will be stand-up sessions from Mark Watson’s Carpool Comedy Club.

Films on offer include recent blockbusters like 1917, family favourites The BFG and Aladdin, along with drive-in classics Grease, Back to the Future and Jaws.

Personal speaker systems will be provided for each car and food served straight to your parking bay, so all you need to do is pull up, sit back and enjoy the show.

COVID-secure measures include the careful spacing of cars, staff wearing protective face masks and gloves, contactless food and drink service via a table in your parking bay, and electronic tickets checked from a distance.

If you need to go to the toilet you switch on your hazard lights on to attract the attention of a steward, who will direct you to the loo when it is safe to leave your car. Iif there’s a queue, you’ll need to wait in your car. All toilets will be manned by an attendant and cleaned thoroughly between uses.

The Drive & Dine menu includes a Bacon Cheeseburger with maple-cured bacon, Chicken Tikka Masala, Five Bean Chilli Vegan Burrito and Picnic Boxes suitable for adults or children, as well as desserts like TKO Biscuit Cheesecake and Millionaires Chocolate Pot and tea, coffee, softies and alcohol.

Pub in the Park will be parking up in London on two different sites, one in west London and one in south London, from 28 July-2 August (see below).

Plans for further events in August and September, including Tom Kerridge’s original Pub in the Park tour, will be announced in a couple of weeks, to allow for any updates to government guidance. Pub in the Park is due to run from mid-August.

Tickets are £17.50 for adults and £5.50-£7.50 for children. Food options range from £4-£15.
