A crowdfunding campaign has been launched in a bid to create a new cafe pavilion for Blondin Park.

The Blondin Consortium need to raise £450,000 by December and are hoping for community backing for the project.

It's proposed that the pavilion would provide a 7 day a week cafe run by a consortium partner, giving autistic young people an opportunity to learn a skill.

In addition, further partners such as two local football groups will be able to use it as a changing area and Community Payback, will have a base for running projects within the park helping to maintain the green space.

With ten partners including a local school, the local council, an environmental group and community led events group the consortium say they want more of the community 'to use the underused space known as Blondin Park'.

Ealing Council has pledged £50,000 and £1,000 has been raised from local events but much more is needed.

The consortium say: '' We need to raise £450,000 in a very short time.  We need as many people as possible to pledge money to this cause - if we do not hit our target then your money stays with you.  When we do hit our target we will have together created a fantastic community hub for the benefit of us all.''
