A man in his twenties was arrested on Brentford High Street this Friday evening (8 June) after a woman had a suspected noxious substance thrown at her.

All three emergency services were called to the scene following the attack. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospitalisation.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, "Police were called at approximately 19:08hrs to reports of a suspected noxious substance attack on Brentford High Street. Officers attended along with LAS.

"A woman, aged in her 30s was treated at the scene by paramedics for injuries that are not life-threatening or life-changing. She did not require hospital treatment."

"A man, aged 20, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH. Enquiries continue. The suspect and victim are known to each other."

The suspect was subsequently bailed to a date in early July.
