Two charged With Brentford Murder

Following Saturday Night Stabbing outside Royal Oak

Paul Moles, 32 , of Layton Road, Brentford and Ricky Fogden, 27, of The Vale, W3, have been charged with the murder of Stephen Ramsey, 33, and GBH on another man.

The charges relate to an incident that occurred on the 28th November outside the Royal Oak pub. Police were called in the early hours of the morning to reports of two men stabbed at the junction of New Road and Hamilton Road, Brentford.

Two local residents had heard a noise outside the pub and went to look and upon seeing the injured men they called for an ambulance and helped police administer first aid.

Stephen Ramsey had suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, and a 31 year old man had suffered stab wounds to the back.

Mr Ramsey was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man who was a friend of Mr. Ramsey was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting where he was treated and discharged.

Mary Macleod MP is being kept updated on developments in the case of the stabbing.The police are currently taking statements from both men, as well as a significant number of witnesses, and local police feel that they are building a “strong case” against them.  The police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this crime.  No motive has yet been established.

Mary said, “What has happened is an absolute tragedy, and my heart goes out to the family and friends of the deceased.

“Statistics show that knife crime is on the increase.  Under the previous government, four out of every five people found guilty of a knife crime escaped jail, but it is vital that we now send a serious, unambiguous message that carrying a knife is totally unacceptable.  The tragic loss of life we see as a result of this crime is unacceptable and we need to help people stay safe by ensuring they know the dangers of carrying and using knives.
