A mesh-draped structure to house a new 170 seat theatre, sixth form centre and ICT suite has been granted planning permission for Brentford School for Girls. Designed by Paul Vick Architects, it will be built this year.

Brentford School for Girls Headteacher Julie Tomkins comments: “We are delighted this building has been accepted. We want a building that reflects our commitment to education in the 21st Century, fostering vision, creativity and modernity amongst our students.

“Brentford School for Girls gained Specialist Schools Status in Media / Arts in September 2007. This development will help us develop the communication skills of our students through the sharing of good practice and cutting edge resources so they can take their rightful place as global citizens.

“It will certainly help us in our role as teachers to inform, inspire and motivate the independent young women of tomorrow.”
