Efforts to support educational charity bring in nearly £2,000

Students at Brentford School for Girls have raised nearly £2000 to support the education of underprivileged children in India and Malawi.
The fundraising team did not let the recent lockdown restrictions stifle their initiative and creativity in the drive to assist London based Wings of Hope charity. The Wings of Hope charity believes in the transformative power of education and helping to open up opportunities for the poor and underprivileged children in India and Malawi by providing them with a free education.
The Brentford School for Girls student fundraising challenges formed part of the Wings of Hope Achievement Award (WOHAA), a nationally recognised social enterprise programme giving students the opportunity to gain valuable employability skills through mentoring and workshops, whilst raising money for others.
Two of the teams in particular, ‘Anonymous Hope’ and ‘Here 4 All’, showed great tenacity and resolve in breaking down the barriers of a more complex fundraising environment to achieve the WOHAA Silver Award.

‘It was important that participating students were able to grow in confidence, become more independent and that their burgeoning sense of social responsibility was nurtured and supported. We are absolutely delighted with what they have achieved and the adaptability and dedication our girls have shown so far.
