The dead body of a woman was recovered from the Grand Union Canal near Transport Avenue in Brentford this Tuesday morning (27 April).

The police say they were called to the scene at the towpath close to the Boston Manor Park footbridge at 6.48am

They were joined by an ambulance crew, two paramedics in cars and the hazardous area response team.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, "A woman was recovered from the canal. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"The woman has not yet been identified. At this time, her death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious."
