A man from Brentford has been charged with manslaughter after a man died after being attacked in Notting Hill.

22-year-old Serhiy Pelykh, a Ukrainian national living in North Road, was arrested on 20 June and charged the next day.

40-year-old Stepan Suslyk, who was also a Ukrainian living in Brentford had been brought to hospital by ambulance on Sunday 16 June having been found with a wound to the head on Holland Park Avenue. Paramedics called the police having become concerned by the nature of his injuries.

It is believed that he had suffered a head injury in the early hours of that morning.

Mr Suslyk died two days later. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination on 21 June at Fulham mortuary established the cause of death as blunt trauma to the head.

Mr Pelykh appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 22 June, and was remanded until 19 July when he will appear at the Central Criminal Court.
