The family of 23 year old, Sahar Daftary, the Brentford based model who plunged to her death on Saturday are urging police not to consider her death as suicide.

The former 'Miss Face of Asia' died after falling from the balcony of a flat in Salford Quays Manchester. A 33 year old man was arrested in connection with the incident but has been bailed.

Her family have said in a statement, "The family are devastated at the tragic loss of Sahar. She had booked a flight to Dubai to celebrate her 24th birthday on Christmas Day with five friends. We firmly believe there is no way she would have committed suicide."

Her family believe that the explanation for her death could lie with the acrimonious relationship she had with property developer Rashid Jamil. The pair had 'married' in a ceremony in Brentford at the Holiday Inn a year ago but the legality of the marriage became unclear when it emerged that Mr. Jamil was still married to another woman who had only recently given birth to his child.

Ms. Daftary had moved north to Manchester with Mr. Jamil, giving up her job as a personal shopper, but had returned to London when the relationship deteriorated. It has been reported in a national newspaper that at this time pornographic videos of Ms. Daftary were posted on the internet.

Police have said that their initial findings suggest that the fall was an accident or suicide.
