A 39 year old man from Brentford is back behind bars following a high speed chase with police between Ealing and Twickenham.

Peter Seymour of Green Dragon Lane had been sentenced to two years in jail in 1998 when he was found guilty of causing the death of his friend by careless driving whilst over the alcohol limit.

Despite still being subject to a 10 year ban, in June of this year he stole a Ford Fiesta. He was spotted by police and a high speed chase ensued. For over twenty minutes police vehicles followed Seymour at speeds of up to 70mph. Seymour had driven through 4 sets of red traffic lights.

The chaSeptember 25, 2007 up the dual carriageway. He stopped the car and was arrested by police as he tried to run away.

His defence counsel said that Seymour had developed a serious drug problem during his first period in jail. He had been staying at a bed and breakfast hospital but stole the car with the intention of sleeping rough in it.

He was sentenced to 12 months in jail and banned for a further 5 years and until he passed a further driving test.
