Brentford Voice has organised an informal virtual meeting to discuss the changes to the fabric of our town which continue apace.

The meeting will belong to residents and will not be attended by local councillors or by officers from LB Hounslow.

The aims is to provide an opportunity to express your feelings about our community and how you would like to see it in the future,

There will be ample opportunity to raise issues and questions at the meeting. However, Brentford Voice says it would be most helpful if you would let it know in advance of any comments and questions on issues which may be of particular importance to you.

Send an email, by 9 June, to: info@brentfordvoice.co.uk

Even if you don't have an advance question it would be helpful, in planning the meeting, if you would let Brentford Voice know if you would like to attend.

Your questions and comments can be on any Brentford-related issue but it is thought that many will fall within one or more of these topic areas:

Arts and Culture; Transport; Planning; Housing; Open Spaces and Greening; Heritage; Climate Change; Air Pollution; and Brentford's waterside.

Our Local Conversation will take place from 6.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday 15 June. At that time you will be able to join the Conversation via this link.

The meeting was originally schedule for Monday 14 June but had to be rearranged due to a diary conflict.

LB Hounslow are currently preparing a "Vision for Brentford Town Centre" and a Character and Design Study which are both of great importance to Brentford. Our Local Conversation should be an important input to these studies.

On 24 June, Hounslow Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Hounslow Council, are running a Hounslow Regeneration & Recovery Conference. This will include presentations from Hounslow's Director Housing, Planning & Communities and from developers, including the Berkeley Group and Ballymore.

So far as Brentford Voice are aware, no representatives of the community have been invited to this conference. However, it will ensure that delegates are made aware of the conclusions of Our Local Conversation.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

We are therefore asking our readers to consider offering financial support to these efforts. Any money given will help support community and public interest news and the expansion of our coverage in this area.

A suggested monthly payment is £8 but we would be grateful for any amount for instance if you think this site offers the equivalent value of a subscription to a daily printed newspaper you may wish to consider £20 per month. If neither of these amounts is suitable for you then contact info@neighbournet.com and we can set up an alternative. All payments are made through a secure web site.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.

If you do support us in this way we’d be interested to hear what kind of articles you would like to see more of on the site – send your suggestions to the editor.

For businesses we offer the chance to be a corporate sponsor of community content on the site. For £30 plus VAT per month you will be the designated sponsor of at least one article a month with your logo appearing if supplied. If there is a specific community group or initiative you’d like to support we can make sure your sponsorship is featured on related content for a one off payment of £50 plus VAT. All payments are made through a secure web site.
