Promoter Robbie tells www.brentfordTW8.com about this month's bill...

This month we welcome two excellent new faces and one old friend...

Matt Kirshen... Winner of the 2003 Hackney New Act Competition, the Comedy Store King of Kings and runner up in the Paramount Ha Bloody Ha, Matt's first year in comedy could not have gone much better. Since then Matt has established himself as a serious comedian of the future, and potential perrier award winner. Quickly snapped up by one of the country's leading talent agency's he is trawling the country's comedy clubs, large and small, carving out a very respectable name for himself. Comedians are a hard working bunch and Matt is no exception. Matt's on stage persona is one of impish intelligence and mischief. Combine that with a razor sharp mind, Cambridge educated of course although very different to the footlight's gone before, he has a maturity of writing that belies his years and a quick wit to match most.

"Winning material.. Kirshen certainly shone through" - Evening Standard

"His performance is the perfect mix of innocence and post-adolescent cynicism, driven by infectious energy." - Metro Life Magazine "

...precociously talented... excellent" - The Stage

Stan Stanley... Stan I think was born for comedy... if nothing else he just looks funny. Obviously that is not the extent of his talents but it is certainly a start. Finalist of The Daily Telegraph Open Mike Awards 2002, and although not walking away with first prize he was singled out and comended by the judges for his performance, Stan was one of a select few to cross the water to Montreal, for the Just for Laughs Festival, as part of the Britcom showcase. Stan's performance is just that, a performance, but in no way staged or manipulated: his jokes, stories and observations are laced with an overt and almost theatrical body language, a natural clown if you like, but don't let that fool you into thinking thats all he is. His observations are sharp and brilliant, edged with satire and hidden cynicism. His gags are beautifully silly and simple, as gags should be, and his timing and delivery all his own.

"Stan and Deliver! Stan Stanley can shake a crowd with his energetic pace" The Daily Telegraph

"Simply Class" Fest

"Smart and shameless the crowd devour his observations on popular culture" The Stage

Headliner Dan Antopolski

There is not much to say about Dan Antopolski that has not already been said. ... Since winning the BBC New Comedy Awards in 1998 Dan quiclky built himself a reputation for being one of the most inventive, intelligent and edgy comics to emerge from the scene. His quick wit and surreal flights of fancy have delighted both critics and comedy audiences alike and set himself apart from most other comics. Twice nominated for the most prestigious award in comedy, the perrier, his shows have travelled the world (Melbourne, Montreal and New York to name a few) recieving critical acclaim where he went and have given Dan an almost cult following amoungst his fans. Dan was my first choice to headline the opening of the club back in November last year and I am over the moon he is coming back to delight us all again.

'Ludicrously original. You have to see this.’ ***** The List.

"A dazzling stage presence and a great store of one-liners" - The Times

"Undeniably the most imaginative comedian on display" - Time Out

Dan's other television credits include appearances on two series of The Stand Up Show (BBC1), How To Survive (BBC Choice), Cherry Pop (UK Play) and The Perrier Awards (Channel 4). He recently travelled to Melbourne to appear in The World Comedy Series, which will be screened on Comedy Central in the USA and on The Paramount Comedy Channel in the UK.
