As part of Summer University 2009, twelve young people from across Hounslow were invited to take part in Windows on Gunnersbury.

The brief was simple: use digital cameras to take pictures around Gunnersbury Park and Museum, manipulate the photographs using Photoshop, create imaginative and inspiring artwork for to be placed in the windows of Gunnersbury Museum.

Sarah Hoyle, project manager for the scheme said, “ The artwork is awe inspiring. The children showed creativity at its best, taking elements from inside Gunnersbury Museum and outside in the garden to create brilliant pieces of artwork. A must see! “

The project was commissioned by Griffin Park Learning Zone and Gunnersbury Park Museum as part of Summer University 2009 and was supported by Laing, Optink and the Jack Petchy Foundation.

The project follows on from Windows on Brentford and Windows on Isleworth two community art projects run and managed by the team at Together We Create. For more details check out the Together We Create website:  www.togetherwecreate.org.uk
