At this time of year, families often end up with unwanted children's gifts that sit gathering dust.

Ealing Road Baptist Church (Ealing Road opposite the Princess Royal) will happily take gifts and pass them on to needy children. Please contact Roger Lindie on 020 8568 0510 for details.

Bless Church is collecting new presents for children of prisoners at Wormwood Scrubs and for CAP (Christians Against Poverty) who are supporting families in debt in Ealing and Brentford(contact sara@blesscc.org). CAP is a debt counseling service that supports families, offering a practical solution to people in debt, preparing a budget that prioritises spending for food and essential bills, and negotiating with creditors to stop interest and charges.

All unwanted items, used or new, can be advertised on Hounslow Freegle http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Hounslow-Recycle/ where someone will want your item and come and collect it for free. If you have a clear out in the New Year this is a good place to get rid of the smallest (and largest) items.

Of course brentford tw8.com has its own classified section where you can advertise goods at no cost, even if you wish to be paid for them.

If you wish to get some cash back for them then http://www.gumtree.com/ is a useful site too.

Soft used cuddly toys can be donated to sick children in hospital, where infection constantly requires new toys. Please contact editor for details.

If you know any good places to donate gifts please send an email.
