Melissa Huggins is a 27 year old girl who lives in Ashford Middlesex. She is a first school teacher at St Ignatius School in Sunbury.

In 2005 Melissa was diagnosed with a brain tumour, but after treatments and operations she was expecting to be given the news that she had the 'all clear' in her check up review in October this year, instead Melissa has been re-diagnosed with a Grade 3 Anaplastic Ependymoma Brain Tumour. If that wasn't bad enough, a few weeks ago she discovered that this has also spread to the base of her spine.

In a nutshell, to have any chance of surviving and beating this, Melissa's family and friends have to raise £150,000 for treatment in the USA, and it's going to have to be soon too. The only machine that can treat this is in Boston and costs over £100 million, so a trip to America is Melissa's only hope and chance.

So far, around £30,000 has been raised, coverage of this beautiful girl's story has reached the local papers but now also BBC online News.
