Marie Curie Cancer Care is looking for people from across London to help organise the charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign, the Great Daffodil Appeal. The Great Daffodil Appeal encourages everyone to give a donation and wear the charity’s iconic daffodil pin during March.

All of the money raised from the appeal will come straight to Marie Curie Cancer Care and enable them to continue our work providing high quality nursing care in the homes of terminally ill people, giving people the choice to die at home supported by their families. The Marie Curie Nurses provide both practical and emotional care and support to the patient and their families at what can be the most distressing time.

Daffodil collectors

With planning for the 2013 campaign already underway, the local Marie Curie fundraising team are looking for volunteers to help in a variety of roles. From organising local collections to delivering boxes of daffodils to shops in your area, by volunteering some of your time you’ll be helping local people with a terminal illness to get the care they need.

All their care is completely free for patients and their families, but it costs the charity £20 an hour to provide this service. Therefore, any further funds raised by you would be greatly appreciated and hugely valued.

If you’d like to help your local Marie Curie fundraising team prepare for the Great Daffodil Appeal and make the 2013 campaign the most successful yet, then please contact Helen Simpson on helen.simpson@mariecurie.org.uk, or 020 7599 7338 or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/daffodil for more information.
