Julie Charlwood organised and took part in 14-mile walk with friends along River Thames to raise money for charity supporting disabled people and carers.

Julie Charlwood from Isleworth, a former member of staff at respite holiday charity Revitalise, organised and took part in a 14-mile Revitalise River Walk on Saturday (1st September), to raise money for the disabled people and carers that the charity supports.

Julie was part of a group of 14 friends to take on the 14-mile walk from Richmond to Victoria in support of Revitalise - a national charity providing respite holidays for disabled people and carers at its three accessible respite holiday centres in Chigwell in Essex, Southampton and Southport.

The event was a brilliant success with the total raised currently standing at £1,845, including Gift Aid. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting disabled people and carers to enjoy respite holidays at the charity’s three accessible UK respite holiday centres.

Speaking of her reasons for taking on the Revitalise River Walk, Julie commented:

“In the time I spent working with the Revitalise team I got to be part of and experience the fantastic work the charity does supporting disabled people and carers to enjoy respite holidays. I saw for myself the invaluable difference it makes to their lives.

“Having the opportunity to take a break is something that can mean so much at times when carers and their loved ones need time away from everyday life and my friends and I are so happy that we have been able to come together to help make a difference.”
