The Brentford Festival will return in 2006, organisers have announced. Its centrepiece will be a day-long fair in Boston Manor Park, an event attended by thousands of people when first held last year.

However this year's event promises to be brighter than ever. Although still at an early stage there are plans to revive the parade through local streets that used to take place in the days of the Brentford Carnival, with local organisations and businesses building floats.

To highlight the number of artistic and other attractions in the area there will be tie-ins with organisations such as the Steam Museum to create a weekend-long Festival.

Anybody interested in taking part in the Festival, which will be held over the weekend of the 1-3rd September, is asked to contact organiser Linda Massey via email.
