The Brentford branch of groundwork and civil engineering distributor Rudridge has expanded its supply area far beyond London to include a delivery 8,000 miles away in the Falkland Islands.

“A customer of ours at the Brentford branch had previously worked for a company where they regularly dealt with the Falkland Islands,” said branch manager Anthony Betteridge.

“This link and the relationship the customer had with Rudridge led to the suggestion for the Falkland Island government to get in touch with Rudridge for materials. This came to fruition fairly quickly and soon enough, the contact had been made. We were asked to supply our standard concrete kerbs by Dura Kerb and plastic Dura kerbs also.” It took some organising to arrange for the materials to make the 8,000 mile journey to the Falkland Islands, he said.

Rudridge director Robert Rudd added: “As a relatively small independent organisation, it is flattering to say the least that a customer received such good service and was so pleased with our work that they recommended us to a customer so far away. I am incredibly proud of the team at the Brentford branch for this. It’s great for us as a local company to be recognised internationally.”
