New Business Support Programme for Brentford

Hounslow for Business is pleased to announce the creation of a new business support programme, supported by Brentford Chamber of Commerce, aimed at helping existing businesses based in Hounslow and Brentford*. The new service will run from November 2011 to March 2012.

The programme which is fully funded by the Mayor of London's Outer London Fund is a comprehensive package of workshops, business reviews and 1 to 1 sessions with various business specialists. Workshops and support covers areas such as; business resilience, boosting your retail sales, waste and energy cost reduction, how to raise finance, how food safety can increase business, and how customer care can grow profits. Free Financial Health Checks and Business Reviews will also be part of the package of free services.

Managing your employees effectively and in compliance with the law

A positive employer/employee relationship is always very productive and beneficial for both parties.  However, there are a number of regulations and practices that need to be observed and complied with in order to ensure that the relationship is kept at an optimum level.

About the presenter - Mirtha Medina is a qualified and experienced Human Resources Management specialist.  She has headed HR functions for large organisations, carried out employment tribunal representation and negotiated with trade unions at national level.  She now works with SMEs to support them in the effective management of their employees and ensuring that they comply with employment legislation.

*Eligibility - please note:
The Mayor of London is funding this initiative to help micro businesses based in both Hounslow and Brentford Town Centres. Therefore priority for both the workshops and the individual business and financial reviews is micro businesses based in these town centres. Businesses from other parts of Hounslow Borough, e.g. Feltham, Chiswick, Isleworth, etc can opt to be wait listed for availability.Individual Business, Financial Reviews and follow up 1:1 support - a business*needs to be established for at least 18 months to be applicable for this part of the programme. However, as this programme is designed to help businesses we would like to be flexible so new, high growth businesses will be considered.Workshops - any business* is welcome to attend, irrespective of size and when they started in business.

Location for all workshops: 108, the Docking Station, Brentford, TW8 8AT. The workshop will start at 6pm promptly and finish by 8pm.
