Hounslow's Planning Committee will make a decision on 1st August about Ballymore's permanent car park which has been causing some controversy as a temporary car park facility has already been opened on the site charging from £2 for an hour's stay.

Only 11 objections were received regarding this application and the response to concerns about early construction is "Given the car park has been given outline consent, and in light of planning law this cannot be considered illegal".

Ballymore already have outline planning permission for a car park for up to 606 spaces. There was also a condition for a minimum of 150 spaces to be provided during construction.

This reserved matters application (00607/BA/P4) is for the permanent 809 space car park with 30 flats, two retail units, boat storage and landscaping. The flats would include 18 one-bedroom, two-person flats
and 12 two-bedroom, four-person flats.

The planning report recommends approval of the application subject to conditions which include provision of electric vehicle charging points, suitable cycle storage, provision of strategies for internal lighting and energy. As the scheme already has outline permission the matters for consideration are only the appearance, means of access, landscaping, layout and scale.

The application for the temporary car park (00607/BA/P3) is still pending consideration.
