In the December 21st edition, the Hounslow Chronicle printed the following apology:

We would like to apologise to Councillor Colin Ellar for an article in the Hounslow Chronicle headlined 'Labour could de-select former Mayor over 'petty row' dated November 16 which was inaccurate in two points.

The Labour Party is not “trying to deselect” former Mayor Cllr Amrit Mann and Cllr Colin Ellar, Deputy Leader of Hounslow Council was not trying to "stifle democracy" or involved in a petty row. He had no role in trying to deselect another councillor.

The Chronicle did contact Councillor Colin Ellar in respect of the story but not repeatedly as reported.

We sincerely regret any upset caused by the article.

This story was commented on in a thread on this forum and we'd just like to make it clear that the Chronicle have apologised for making inaccurate reports about Councillor Colin Ellar.
