Comment on this story on the

Air Quality Brentford is a voluntary group of residents whose aim is to try to help improve air quality locally in Brentford through positive change.

As local residents AQB are in a prime position to identify specific areas of concern and keep an eye on the situation and work with people who are able to make change happen: The Mayor of London, Hounslow Council, TfL and other organisations. Funding for various planting projects throughout Brentford has been applied for.

You can help and:

• Subscribe to AQB newsletter via airqualitybrentford@hotmail.com
• Do you have any large containers you no longer need? Could you donate spare plants from your garden, or propagate some plants for us? They could be used for community planting projects. Let us know.
• Sign the petition to increase the ULEZ to the whole of Greater London - it takes 30 seconds to fill out
• Watch this short cartoon by Healthy Air Campaign UK The sparrow in the very smoggy city.
• For anyone who is interested, there is a bank account and any donations will be used to fund our future community planting projects to make Brentford a much greener place to live.

AQB have successfully planted around Brentford station brightening up the area and reducing rubbish being thrown onto the grassy slope.

More community planting is planned near the shop corner of Hamilton Road, the empty planters in the Co-op Housing opposite the Premier Inn on Brentford High Street, the 'scruffy island' on the A4 at Lionel Road, called Sunleys Island, and more.
